Sigma-Regeln
Will man
bei normalverteilten Größen einen Bereich mit gegebener Wahrscheinlichkeit
um $\mu$ haben,
so kann man die Grenzen des Bereichs (Intervall) über $\mu\pm k\sigma$ bestimmen.
Die wichtigsten Werte für $k$ bzw. $P$ sind:
$\begin{array}{l@{\,}c@{\,}l}
P(\mu-1\cdot\sigma\leq X\leq \mu+1\cdot\sigma) &\approx& 68{,}3\%\\
P(\mu-2\cdot\sigma\leq X\leq \mu+2\cdot\sigma) &\approx& 95{,}4\%\\
P(\mu-3\cdot\sigma\leq X\leq \mu+3\cdot\sigma) &\approx& 99{,}7\%\\
\end{array}$
$\begin{array}{|l@{\,}c@{\,}l}
P(\mu-1{,}64\cdot\sigma\leq X\leq \mu+1{,}64\cdot\sigma) &\approx& 90\%\\
P(\mu-1{,}96\cdot\sigma\leq X\leq \mu+1{,}96\cdot\sigma) &\approx& 95\%\\
P(\mu-2{,}58\cdot\sigma\leq X\leq \mu+2{,}58\cdot\sigma) &\approx& 99\%\\
\end{array}$
